This
monastery is the most important
one in Lampang, located
in Tambon Lampang Luang,
Koh Ka District, 18 kms
from Lampang city. It houses
Phra Kaew Don Tao, the Buddha
Image that is held with
historical reference, and
many antiques and ancient
arts. According to history,
it is the site where Chao
Phraya Suwalue Chai Songkhram
(Governor Thip Chang) freed
Lampang from Burma. He later
became the ancestor of seven
generations : Na Lampang,
Na Lamphun, Na Chiang Mai,
Na Nan.
